The HOBO (cigar) Box Banjos sound very similar to their larger cousins. The sound box and neck are manufactured in our shop per order. The actual cigar boxes from cigar makers no longer meet our quality standards! We have chosen to build our own boxes to ensure the structural integrity, life and continued playability of our HOBO box Banjos.
All of our HOBO Bajos feature a thru neck design framed by a custom-built box using your choice of tone woods. The Banjo sound board is made from a frosted top to produce a Bluegrass tone, and the neck is made of your choice of hard woods.
With each of our instruments being custom built to your specifications, there is at least a two-week lead time on all orders from order date to shipment date.
